Three Horses
5/10/25, 1:00 am
Last night we finally stepped inside Three Horses Bar — the long-awaited sister bar of @caretakers.cottage
Walking up, we felt like kids on their first trip to a theme park: anticipation building before walking in. And that’s the magic here: a bar that’s already carved out a distinct identity. Where sherry reigns, and the details tell the story.
We started with the Jabberwock, their house martini given a subtle lift with fino sherry. Then the CLC, bright with pisco and lemon, deepened by Montenegro, PX, and blackberry. Finally, the Bungalow Ranch Style, a mezcal highball that balanced strawberry and peach sweetness with jalapeño agave heat. Each drink confident, layered, and memorable.
Service? Spot-on. Knowledgeable, attentive, and effortlessly guiding us through the menu without pretension. The atmosphere carried the same warmth as Caretaker’s: inviting, easy, and familiar.
Beyond the cocktails, the space is personal: vinyl spinning in the background, coasters and menus designed in-house by co-owner Ryan, and the main artwork created by one of the owner’s aunt. It feels lived-in from day one.
We skipped the beer and sherry pairings this time (too eager to dive into the cocktail list), but luckily the menu won’t rotate monthly, meaning there’s time to sip our way through the rest before the next evolution.
For a grand opening, Three Horses already feels complete. A bar that knows exactly who it is, even while figuring it out in real time.
